Holness hints but does not “call it”

Prime minister Andrew Holness addresses JLP Conference

Uncertainty said Prime Minister Holness can’t continue into the New Year but that was as close as it came to him naming a date. He did say that the next time he is at a mass meeting word will come of elections.

As if savouring the anticipation, the latter part of his address was punctuated with dramatic pauses,  almosts,  musical excerpts, an occasional chorus of  ”call it”, and the noise from the conference floor, all ramping up the tension.

General elections are not constitutional due until 2012. That may be so but that  had not stopped people wondering if  Prime Minister  Holness would name an election date or give some clue as to when they will be, when he addressed the Jamaica Labour Party Conference in Kingston, Jamaica on Sunday November 2011.

He didn’t instead he put his party on its marks but those waiting to hear the go will have to do the election regulation math and be a bit more patient.
